Questions & answers
The most common questions we hear from founders, scale-ups, and companies considering working with us. Direct answers. No ambiguity.
Consultancies deliver a strategy and leave. We don't. Momentz operates as a hybrid between a strategy firm, an operator, and a co-investor — depending on what the situation requires.
In practice, this means we don't hand over a slide deck and wish you luck. We enter a company's operations, build the frameworks, activate the partnerships, and stay in the room until the results are real. We have skin in the game — structurally, not just rhetorically.
The short version: we build what others only advise.
We work with three types of partners — and we're deliberate about each one.
Scale-ups and mid-size companies that have proven their model locally and are ready to expand internationally. Global companies seeking structured, intelligent entry into European markets. And early-stage founders building category-defining ventures who need more than capital — they need architecture.
What they share: a high bar for execution, clarity on their ambition, and the seriousness to match it. We don't work with companies that want to explore. We work with companies that are ready to move.
Both — depending on the context and the opportunity. Through our Venture Catalyst pillar, we selectively co-invest in the ventures we help build and structure. This isn't a fund with a mandate to deploy capital broadly. It's strategic, case-by-case allocation reserved for situations where our involvement goes deep from day one.
For expansion and growth engagements, the model is primarily operational and strategic. In some cases, this evolves into a co-ownership or equity arrangement where it makes sense for both sides.
If you're a founder looking for pure financial investment with no operational involvement, we're probably not the right partner. If you want someone who builds alongside you and brings capital as part of that commitment, we should talk.
It starts with a conversation — not a pitch process. We want to understand where you are, where you're going, and whether there's a genuine fit before either side commits anything.
From there, if the alignment is clear, we move into a structured diagnostic phase: mapping your current position, identifying the key growth levers, and defining a precise scope of work. This isn't a lengthy consulting intake — it's fast, direct, and designed to get to a clear decision quickly.
We engage with a limited number of companies at any given time. That's intentional. It means every partner gets our full attention — not a managed relationship with a junior team running the work.
Our base is Milan, and our primary operational network covers Western and Southern Europe — with particular depth in Italy, France, Spain, and the DACH region. For companies entering Europe, we provide the local intelligence, relationships, and operational presence that make the difference between a genuine market entry and a checkbox exercise.
For European companies looking to expand beyond the continent, we work across markets globally — structuring the architecture and activating the right partnerships regardless of geography.
We're not trying to be everywhere. We're trying to be exactly right for the markets and moments that matter to our partners.
